Our consultancy was established by professionals with over three decades of education, technical training, field experience, research, advisory, and leadership across the domains of sustainable agriculture, sustainable business, and sustainable development. Throughout our professional journey, we have witnessed remarkable progress in food production, industrial growth, and economic development. At the same time, we have observed growing challenges that threaten the sustainability of these achievements.

Founder's Profile
Dr. Venkat Raman Govindula
Founder & Principal Consultant
Dr. Venkat Raman is a sustainability professional with over 30 years of multidisciplinary experience spanning sustainable agriculture, sustainable business, and sustainable development. As the Founder and Principal Consultant of SUSTRIA Consulting, he provides strategic advisory, technical leadership, project development, and capacity-building services to governments, businesses, development agencies, NGOs, investors, and farmer organizations.
His expertise includes agroecology, regenerative agriculture, organic and natural farming, sustainable seed systems, ESG integration, sustainability reporting, certification systems, value chains, rural development, knowledge management, and multi-stakeholder programme management. Throughout his career, he has successfully bridged scientific research, policy, institutional development, and field implementation to deliver practical and scalable sustainability solutions.
Prior to establishing SUSTRIA Consulting, Dr. Venkat Raman served as Advisor–Agroecology at WASSAN and Senior Consultant for Regenerative Agriculture programmes with TechnoServe. He has also contributed to major public-sector initiatives, including the Non-Pesticidal Management (NPM) programme of SERP and the Andhra Pradesh Community Managed Natural Farming (APCNF) programme. Earlier, he worked as a Research Associate at the Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture (CRIDA) and has served in academia as an Academic Consultant and Assistant Professor with Osmania University and its constituent colleges.
Dr. Venkat Raman holds a M.Sc. & Ph.D. in Entomology, postgraduation in rural development, and a postgraduate diploma in environmental education. He is also certified in ESG and independent directorship by the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA). A published researcher with 15 scientific papers, he combines scientific rigour with practical experience to help organisations create measurable environmental, social, and economic impact.
