Regenerative Agriculture for Gherkin Cultivation in South India

Project Overview: This foundational project focused on driving sustainable agricultural transformations and building climate resilience in Southern India's commercial gherkin value chain. Delivered across two critical phases, our founder led the design, technical structuring, and ground-level implementation of regenerative farming practices to improve soil health, conserve water, and enhance smallholder farmer livelihoods.

Key Contributions & Deliverables: Feasibility & Field Assessments: Conducted extensive baseline field surveys across target regions to analyse existing farming systems and determine the environmental and economic viability of regenerative interventions.

Technical & Agronomic Support: Designed actionable, climate-smart agronomic strategies tailored specifically to the regional soil types and local cultivation practices of gherkin crops.
Curriculum Development: Created comprehensive, high-quality technical manuals and training modules mapping out core regenerative principles like soil biology restoration, organic input management, and water conservation.
Capacity Building: Supported regional staff for organising training sessions and workshops, equipping field teams, extension workers, and local farmers with the practical skills needed to sustain regenerative practices.

Advancing Agroecology & Diversified Natural Farming Cotton Systems

Location: Telangana & Andhra Pradesh, India

Project Overview: Operating in a dual capacity as Agroecology Advisor and Senior Consultant across two strategic phases, our founder provided high-level advisory and technical direction to scale sustainable farming initiatives. This engagement centred on developing first-of-its-kind natural farming cotton crop models that successfully integrated crop diversity to build ecological resilience, enhance biodiversity, and secure farmer livelihoods across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

Key Contributions & Deliverables: Pioneering crop models: Successfully developed, field-tested, and validated innovative natural farming cotton models incorporating strategic crop diversity, breaking away from traditional monoculture risks.

Program development: Contributed high-level strategic inputs to design, structure, and refine several multi-regional agroecological programs for the organization.
Technical documentation: Authored comprehensive technical manuals for natural farming systems, specifically focusing on cotton, spices and vegetable crops utilizing crop diversity and regenerative practices.
Capacity building & handholding: Provided end-to-end technical handholding to field teams and organized structured capacity-building programs to ensure seamless ground-level adoption.
